Welcome.

This is the first entry on HydrangeaMachine. I'm Paul, and I'm hosting this place. I'm a Semi-pro Transitional Musician. That means I'm not exactly sure what I play. I come originally out of an all-acoustic background, but I'm frankly a little sick of that sound. I have embraced sequencing and electronic music, though I like the human element that can come through in the best electronic music. I play guitar, midi guitar (a somewhat different animal), some bass, plink around on keys, and sing. The new album will have at least some vocals of mine.
The idea for this site is to create a place I can post tracks as I work on a new album, tentatively called "Hydrangea." I really don't give two shits if I make any money or not. Hopefully, I can make a traditional album/CD, and use this blog to work out my ideas. Yes, I must have a mighty ego to put my thoughts for this on the web, but I'm hoping it will help me commit to the project.
"Hydrangea" will be my fourth album, actually. I recorded the last two in my home studio, the same with this one. The last CD was definitely more experimental than the previous two, and I loved that. Everytime I start a new CD, it takes me a while to get going, but then the obsessions sink in. The second CD really showed me that. I was a nutcase. Although I left the job on good terms I was working at the time, my worries and concerns about how the CD would sound and be received did a lot to end my employment. Don't get me wrong. That's not a bad thing. I love the job I have now, though I wish I could just play music full-time. My dream would be to get to that point, but I'm willing to simply spend all my spare time working on music.
Anyway, I hope anyone who happens to read this enjoys it.
